I’m so lucky that my job brings me in contact with so many wonderful and kindhearted people, who not only give their time generously helping and thinking of others but bring a friendly smile to everyone they meet. It is for this very reason we can continue as a charity to provide the funding for not just the essential pieces of equipment, but the latest technology which helps to attract the best of today’s young consultants, Nurses, and clinical support staff.
Our four shops located around the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital are the League of Friends frontline, I can never give enough praise to all our staff and volunteers who keep our shops running to provide a much-needed service for all its customers. All profits from shop sales are put towards funding equipment which makes our hospital shops a vital and most important part of our charity. So next time you happen to be calling into one of the Friends’ shops you can feel assured that your purchase is helping in some small way.
Our Fundraising team as always are busy planning a variety of events for the coming months; a new one for this summer is a charity Golf Day on the 19th June, please see ‘Diary of Events’ for full details. We are very lucky indeed to have this marvellous group of vibrant ladies all giving their time ‘freely’ and bringing their creative ideas and incredible talents together to help boost our funds.
We are truly grateful to everyone who supports us, whether it be visiting one of our four hospital shops, attending one of our many fundraising events held throughout the year, or from the many kind and generous donations and legacies we receive throughout the year.
