Dear Member,

With so much going on in the world it is sometimes quite hard to not feel overwhelmed, yet by so many of us just doing a little, whatever it may be, can mean the world to someone. I feel all our volunteers and supporters like yourself are doing just that; whether it may be giving a little spare time to help in one of our shops, attending one of our fundraising events or using your baking or gardening skills to provide items to help raise extra funds. All of us together are making a ‘big’ difference.
The Fundraising Committee as always have been busy planning a variety of events for the forthcoming months, please see ‘Dates for your Diary’ for full details. We feel very lucky indeed to have such a marvellous and talented team of ladies, who work hard organising events throughout the year, which not only boosts the Friends funds but also highlights the work we do. Last year they raised over £18,000, which was used to fund important and much needed equipment for the hospital.
Both Berrington and Whitchurch branches have also been very busy holding their own fundraising events in their local communities and they continue to be a very much-valued part of our organisation.
Our four hospital shops continue to provide an amazing service to sta , patients and visitors as they have for the- last 50+ years. They are manned by our wonderful volunteers, both young and some of us not so young, serving sandwiches, drinks, hot food etc with a cheery smile. We are always looking for extra volunteers, if you are interested in joining us please give our Shop Manager Lee or his Assistant Lynn a call as they would love to hear from you. (01743 261008).
Since 2018 the League of Friends RSH has gifted £2.3 million to the Hospital Trust, most recently we have approved a joint funding project with Lingen Davies to provide some unique software to help improve the treatment for patients suffering with cancer.
I wish you all a wonderful Easter and summer and hope to see you at one of events in the coming months.
Yours sincerely,
Susan Hurdiss, Organising Secretary
