Two microscopes have been very generously funded by the League of Friends. Cellular Pathology is a laboratory based specialty which is fundamental to the diagnosis of cancer and its treatment. The Cellular Pathology department receives over 30000 histology and non-gynaecological cytology specimens each year and produces around 130000 stained slides, these are all examined by a team of 11 Pathologists. Almost £3,000 has been raised as part of a £1 million fund for a new MRI scanner at the Trust which runs Shropshire’s acute hospitals.
