£1m scanner at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

A new £1 million MRI scanner at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital has been helping to reduce waiting and travel times for cardiac patients. Microscopes funded by the League of Friends at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Two microscopes have been very generously funded by the League of Friends. Cellular Pathology is a laboratory based specialty which is fundamental to the diagnosis of cancer and its treatment. The Cellular Pathology department receives over 30000 histology and non-gynaecological cytology specimens each year and produces around 130000 stained slides, these are all examined by a team of 11 Pathologists.
