Wide-hearted donation by League of Friends, for a Widefield Retinal Scanner at Royal Shrewsbury eye unit.

Royal Shrewsbury Eye Unit were on the receiving end of some of the state-of-the-art equipment recently that could revolutionise eye care services at the NHS trust.

Charitable funding from the League of Friends (LoF) at Shrewsbury enabled the Royal Shrewsbury Eye Unit to purchase an ‘Optos California ultra-wide field retinal imaging system’, making SATH’s Ophthalmology service, one of the first few in England to use this latest version of the Optos imaging system. The machine was officially unveiled by the League of Friends on Friday 5^th May 2023  when the Ophthalmology team held a presentation to thank the LoF for their contributions.
