If you have some spare time and would like to put it to really good use or if you are looking to make new friends and work as part of a happy team why not join us.
At the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital we have four coffee shops on site in the Main Outpatient area, the Treatment Centre and by the Main entrance to the wards. We have approximately 160 volunteers working in the shops providing a service to patients, staff and visitors. The trolley service goes around the wards on a daily basis taking newspapers, toiletries, etc for the patients that are unable to visit the shops.
The shops annual sales are approximately £875,000 and all profits go towards buying essential equipment for the patients.
We are always looking for more volunteers, the shifts are approx 3 hours and we have vacancies for evenings and weekends alongside weekday shifts.
If you would like to join our happy band please contact Lee Herkes on 01743 261008 or email us at the League of Friends Shops.
One of our Executive Members – Mrs Jayne Mott commissions Patterned Glassware Engraving – Handcrafted in Shrewsbury. She sells to anybody and the profits gained are all donated back to the League of Friends Funds.
